A Week Of My Favorite Things #4

Amazon Kindle!

I love this little devise!  I love to read and this saves me from having to go to the library or buy books.  I've downloaded 458 books and most of them have been free off Amazon.  They have a great selection of free books, and I keep a wish list of my favorites I'd like to have and check often to see if they're on sale or free.

I have the basic keyboard kindle.  Unfortunately, I left it in my bed one night under the covers and when I went to get back into bed, my knee came down on the screen and turned half of the screen black!  I was so upset.  Amazon said there was no way to fix it and it no longer was covered under warranty.  Lucky for me, my Dad had gotten my Mom one for Christmas one year and she had never used it, so she just gave it to me.  I have such a sweet Mom.

I've been eyeing the new paperwhite.  It still has the great screen that looks like the book, you can still read it in the sunlight, but it has a built in light which would be great on nights I can't sleep but don't want to wake Steve up while reading in bed.  One day I may upgrade.  We'll see.

Probably the only thing I don't like about it is the pictures when it's in sleep mode.  One is of a half naked man and I always turn it back on and then off again when that one comes on.  You can't change them or put your own on there.  I think that's my only complaint.

If you're thinking of getting a Kindle or the Nook, I will say I have the Nook on my iPad and look once in a while at their store and I am much more impressed with Amazon's book selection than Barnes and Noble.  But I know people who have the Nook and really like that one too.

A Week Of My Favorite Things #3

Well, I can't do a list of my favorite things and not include this:

Anyone who knows me knows this is my FAVORITE thing!

I have two.  One for rides with the kids and Bella.  (Yes there is a basket on front to put the dog in) And the one pictured is for my serious rides.  :)

I didn't get a lot of riding in last summer due to a surgery and a lack of motivation after the surgery, but I look forward to putting in some serious miles again this Spring/Summer.  My goal this year will be 1,000 miles by the end of the year.  We'll see if I make it.  I came close one year.

My first organized ride is in June.  "I Made The Grade" up the Lewiston Grade.  It's a really fun and very challenging ride.

When I'm on my bike I'm in my happy place.  It's hard to remove the smile on my face.

A Week Of My Favorite Things #2

Already a little behind in this, but here is my #2 pick.

Scentsy

I was having a lot of problems remembering to blow out my candles when I left my home.  I would have to call my neighbor Taunya and ask her to go into my house to make sure my candles were blown out A LOT!  So, I've gotten rid of my candles and now I just burn Scentsy.

I turn them on in the morning and then at night before bed I turn them out.  If I leave, I can just leave them on and not worry about it.  I love it!  You can also set the warmers up on timers (like the ones you would use for Christmas Tree lights) and then you really don't have to think about them.

I have two consultants that I use and I'll put links to their websites below.  Sometimes if one doesn't have what I want the other person will.  It's reasonably priced and my home smells oh so good!  My favorite scent is probably Autumn Stroll, which you can't get right now, but I pretty much like anything with a cinnamon smell to it.

I also love the scent disks for your car.  They last forever!

If you're interested in having a party so you can earn some cheep/free product, contact one of these ladies and they'll help you out.  If you aren't in this area, you can always do a web party!

A Week of my favorite things #1

I have a friend who is posting one of her favorite things on her blog each day for five days. I have loved hearing about her favorite things so I thought I'd do the same.

My first is :

Liquid Chlorophyll

For me, this stuff is sunshine in a bottle. I get it with peppermint oil in it to help a little with the taste, but this stuff is amazing!

My Aunt suggested I start taking it and so I gave it a try. I'm hooked. It's the only supplement I've ever taken that I take consistently and continually. I always start out with good intentions to take vitamins but usually the bottle winds up half used in the bottom of my medicine drawer. Not this stuff!

Benefits of Chlorophyll:
1. Chlorophyll is the best aid in gastrointestinal problems. It aids in loosening and cleansing the colon.

2. Chlorophyll promotes formation of hemoglobin and red blood cells. As we digest green food, the magnesium helps in rebuilding and replenishing the red blood cells which is responsible for boosting our energy.

3. Chlorophyll treats bad breath. Chlorophyll acts as a deodorizer that eliminates bad odor.

4. Detoxify toxins that cause cancer. Research found that the damaged genes caused by carcinogen substances can be prevented by chlorophyll.

5. Beneficial in assimilating calcium and other heavy minerals. Chlorophyll is really easy to absorb. It gets into your bloodstream really fast. It can absorb calcium and balance other trace minerals to rebuild, replace, and exchange with the new tissue.

6. Chlorophyll fights infection. Chlorophyll possess property that kill harmful bacteria. The antiseptic properties of chlorophyll have the ability to kill germs by strengthening the tissues.

All this being said, I notice a huge difference when I'm taking this. My energy level is way up and I just feel better.

So give it a try! You may love it like I do!
