We were so blessed to get to have Steve's sister, her boyfriend (we hope soon to have him in our family) and our nephew visit last week. They had a crazy trip to Washington. Their plan was to leave at 10:30 our time on Thursday and get here at 10:00 our time. But, they didn't get here until 7:30am Friday morning. They end up renting a car out of Seattle and driving here because they couldn't make the last flight out of Seattle Thursday night. They were so tired. Of course Trey (being 11) would not admit to being tired, but Stacey and Ryan both took good naps on Friday to help get caught up on the lack of sleep. We went to bull riding Friday night at the Arena, which was really fun except then Ryan started feeling crummy and spent Friday night throwing up. But not before we got in a few hands of Pinochle. :) We let Ryan sleep in on Saturday while Stacey, Kelly and I headed to the mall. Stac took Kel to Build a Bear which Kelly loved and then Stacey and I did some jewelry shopping. (Can't wait for the call saying Ryan popped the question!) The other boys did some of their own shopping. The adults headed out to P.F. Changs for dinner Saturday night, while the kiddos got to stay home alone, eat pizza, and play video games. Of course Saturday night was spent staying up until 3:00am playing Pinochle. That was the theme of the weekend. Sunday, we all slept in (or tried to because my Mom kept calling) and then headed to Sushi at Sushi.com. I will put some of the pictures from that on this post. Then we headed to Lazer Quest. Stacey and I had to head home, missing the last game because Steve locked his keys in his truck and after the games we were headed out to my parents house for dinner. We had a great dinner and nice visit with Mom and Dad. They really liked Ryan and then we headed home to...you guessed it... play Pinochle. :) We only stayed up until 12:00 that night, I faded fast, but we got a few more hands in before their flight left at 7:30pm Monday night. Monday we went to the mall, and headed out to my favorite sandwich shop, San Fransisco Sourdough. Ok so I realize they aren't the same as East Coast subs, but as far as sandwiches go they're pretty good! It was a really great visit but to top it off they got stuck at the New Jersey airport for 5 hours after having flown threw the night with little sleep. Guess the trip wouldn't have been complete without flight problems on the way home too.
Thank you so much Ryan, Stacey and Trey for coming to visit. We love you guys and look forward to more Pinochle memories in the future. :) Maybe next time at your house!
